Unity Linux 20.1070e Security Update: kernel (UTSA-2025-987624)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 270914

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2025-987624 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

dm ioctl: prevent potential spectre v1 gadget

It appears like cmd could be a Spectre v1 gadget as it's supplied by a user and used as an array index. Prevent the contents of kernel memory from being leaked to userspace via speculative execution by using array_index_nospec.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel package.
